Singer/songwriter Billy O’Dwyer (Bob), based in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, launched his debut album 'The Time Has Come' to a standing room only audience at the Brú Ború Cultural Centre Theatre in Cashel, Co. Tipperary in 2002. 'Irish Music Magazine’s' reviewer John O’Regan stated, "'The Time Has Come' is a collection of thoughtful well-written songs, which repay extended listening ... O’Dwyer’s voice is strong and muscular, well suited to the mix of acoustic folk, country and blues...". All songs are original. Billy’s song 'The Bright Side of the Moon' was recorded by Irish artist Louise Morrissey on her album 'One More Time'. Billy’s second album 'I’ll See You Tonight in My Dreams' was launched at the Brú Ború in 2004, and 'Irish Music Magazine's' reviewer Nicky Rossiter writes, "The voice is mellow, the arrangements beautifully simple and the lyrics are excellent. Billy is another one of those treasures of the music scene...This CD bears multiple and close listening...In fact it has hardly left the CD player since I got it...a talent to watch out for".

BIOG
It's a few years on since singer/songwriter Billy O'Dwyer Bob,
based in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland, launched his debut album
'The Time Has Come' to a standing room only audience at the Brú
Ború Cultural Centre Theatre in Cashel, Co. Tipperary in
2002.
'Irish Music Magazine's' reviewer John O'Regan said, "'The
Time Has Come' is a collection of thoughtful well-written songs,
which repay extended listening ... O'Dwyer's voice is strong and
muscular, well suited to the mix of acoustic folk, country and
blues..."
THE SORRYASS BLUES BAND
We've hit the second decade of the new century and Billy is back
with an acoustic band, playing up to three hours of original material
in a foot tapping festival friendly show. It's a new sound with
Billy on guitar, Sean Feery on acoustic bass and James Barry on
percussion. This is added to by the unusual -for- country-combination
of tenor banjo (Mike Walsh) and Irish bouzouki (Sean Laffey) this
gives the band an Irish feel with a rootsy Americana centre.
They lads have been busy since they brought out Tipperary Girl
in August 2009, with appearances around their home county on a
weekly basis. 2010 will see the band expand their horizons and
already they have had a successful short tour of Holland in February,
taking in Mulligan's of Amsterdam and the Deventer Irish Pub Festival.
They closed February with another sell out return to the Brú
Boru Theatre in Cashel.
THE SONGS
The new band formed around rehearsals for Billy's latest Single Tipperary Girl, an upbeat folk-country number that has recently
been recorded by Daniel O'Donnell . Billy's song 'The Bright Side
of the Moon' was recorded by Irish artist Louise Morrissey on
her album 'One More Time'. Billy's second album 'I'll See You
Tonight in My Dreams' was launched in 2004.

'Irish Music Magazine's' reviewer Nicky Rossiter writes, "The

are excellent. Billy is another one of those treasures of the
music scene...This CD bears multiple and close listening...In
fact it has hardly left the CD player since I got it...a talent

'Country Music People' magazine's reviewer Al Moir writes, "Billy O'Dwyer is from the Emerald Isle and possesses a pronounced Irish brogue that is wholly absorbing. He has written all the material and proves to be a good storyteller...O'Dwyer is a word painter and his uncomplicated yet catchy melodies serve as a solid vehicle for his lyrics."
Billy, who has been writing songs for many years, cites his influences as ranging from Irish songwriters such as Percy French, Johnny McEvoy, and Christy Moore to country folk legends such as Willie Nelson, John Prine, and Johnny Cash.
